Next generation cell phones would implement Wi-Fi

From the In-Stat study named Worldwide Demand for Wi-Fi/Cellular Combo Phones, half of responders would like Wi-Fi support on their next cell phone. This could push vendors and operators to implement this feature in order to allow SIP connection to in-house PBX in addition to the global cell network.

PC Express cards available at Digium

Digium proposes now voice card for the PCI Express bus. No real innovation on these cards but we now have a solution for the new servers that lack from PCI standard bus slots. New cards are for E1/T1/J1 only, TE220 and TE420, respectively including 2 and 4 ports.

Sangoma releases new BRI card for Europe market

Sangoma has annonced, on June the 11th 2007 the availability of its A500 BRI card for European market. Available for Windows and Linux, this BRI interface can either work in NT or TE mode, just by changing the module connection. This card is composed of three different modules, the PCI interface, a daughter card with interfaces and the expansion modules for BRI and echo canceller. If more than 3 ports are required, multiple cards can be plugged together on different PCI slots by adding a back-plane, up to 12 ports for 24 communications.
